Travelling is fun and exciting! But in recent times, without naming names.. COUGH (COVID), it has also become stressful and expensive. If you don’t have the right documentation, travel insurance or foreign money, things might not go as smoothly as your internet search led you to believe. Read on as we discuss some of the services that might come in handy for your next trip abroad!
Travel insurance is essentially a financial safety net, especially in the uncertain times we currently face. Put simply, it’s a risk management tool that can help you mitigate the cost of unexpected medical expenses, lost or stolen luggage, and cancellations or delays. For example, if your luggage gets lost during your trip, getting it back could be an expensive ordeal. Travel insurance can cover some or all of these costs so that you don’t have to pay them out of your own pocket. The same applies for cancelled flights and other travel-related inconveniences that prevent you from arriving at your destination as scheduled (or at all). Most travelers buy travel insurance prior to purchasing their flight ticket or cruise ticket (and increasingly even before they book hotels).
A Travel Money Card is a handy travel companion. A travel card is a prepaid debit card that you can use to access your funds wherever you are in the world. Travel cards allow you to purchase currency at exchange rates that are generally better than what you’d get from any other source, without having to carry large amounts of cash. They also let you withdraw cash from ATMs and pay for goods and services as you would at home.
